About Dry Eye

Dry eye is a common disease that affects millions of people worldwide. The most common cause of dry eye is meibomian gland dysfunction which affects tear evaporation and causes painful, gritty and burning eyes. This condition is now curable with Intensive Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment offering freedom from suffering and the need for constant drop instillation.

Who is the trial for?

Any patient suffering from dry eyes, blepharitis or painful eyes caused by meibomian gland dysfunction will benefit from this treatment.

What does the trial involve?

Patients will be required to attend a clinic for 5 visits – 4 treatment sessions administered every 2 weeks with final follow up. The examinations and treatments will be performed by an eye specialist.

Is there a cost involved?

If you are eligible for inclusion in the study, all treatments will be free of charge.

Requirements

Patients will be required to complete an email questionnaire prior to the first visit.

Patients will need to be available for 4 consecutive treatments over a 2-month period and make their own travel arrangements.
